Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The game takes place on a diamond-shaped field with four bases arranged in a square. The objective is for one team, the batting team, to score runs by hitting a pitched ball and running around the bases, while the other team, the fielding team, tries to get the batters out through various means such as catching the ball, tagging runners, or throwing the ball to a base ahead of the runner.

The game is divided into innings, with each team having a turn to bat and a turn to field in each inning. A run is scored when a player successfully makes it around all four bases and returns to home plate. Baseball is known for its unique set of rules, statistics, and traditions. It has a rich history and is often referred to as America’s pastime, though it is also widely played and enjoyed globally. The sport emphasizes skill, strategy, and teamwork, with various positions on the field, such as pitcher, catcher, and infielders and outfielders.
